Un sistema especial de votación en línea permitio a los aficionados entrar en MTV y escoger el "mejor" artistas de todo el año. Hubo 13 categorías, incluyendo Mejor Nuevo Artista, principal rival, Global Star, Artista del Año, y mucho más!
